Happy Friday! Can you believe we are nearing the end of February already?? I know I have said it before, but I truly can’t believe how fast this year is going by.
I have updated the newsletter for the week, along with star student and birthdays. Here is the link for the newsletter :newsletter 2:23:18
Please be sure to use the link sent to you to sign up for parent teacher conferences. If you can not find a time that works for you, please contact me and I will find another time to meet with you. If you didn’t get the link, let me know, and I will send it out to you.
Enjoy the weekend!
We celebrated two birthdays this week. Sam’s birthday was on Monday and Max’s 1/2 birthday was on Sunday, which we celebrated on Tuesday. Both boys brought in a yummy treat to share with the class. We hope you both had a great day!
Owen was our star student this week. We learned that he likes music, gym, and math. He also likes to play baseball and basketball, and one day wants to be a police officer. He is looking forward to his spring break trip – he is taking a cruise with his family! We loved getting to know Owen better this week.
Sophia was our star student this week. We learned that she loves to paint and do gymnastics. Someday she would like to visit Hollywood and become an Olympic gymnast. She is good at softball, art, training dogs, gymnastics and being funny! We enjoyed getting to know Sophia better this week!
I can not honestly believe we are entering the last week of January already! This year is flying by!!
Just a few reminders: orders for PE apparel are due January 30, money for One Book One School was due today – if you would still like to participate send in three dollars by Monday, money for recorders is due as soon as possible.

Marissa celebrated her birthday this week on Thursday. She shared a yummy birthday treat with us too – cupcakes! We hope you had a great day Marissa!
Kylie was our star student this week. We learned she likes Big Nate books, writing, playing with her dog, spaghetti and pizza, and coloring. We enjoyed getting to know Kylie better this week!
Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break and had a great Christmas and New Year. Thank you to all the parents who helped make our Christmas party a great time. The kids had a fun time and it was a great way to spend the day before break. I am truly blessed to have such a supportive group of parents to partner with as we travel through third grade!
Now that school has started again, I wanted to take the time to let you know about some things going on in the classroom and how you can help out at home. We have started taking time tests in multiplication. Hopefully you have seen some come home already. The time tests are 30 problems and are 1 minute. It would be really helpful if you could spend some time helping your child study the multiplication facts so they are passing the time tests. It is a third grade standard in math to know the math facts fluently – that means quickly recalling the facts (within 6 seconds).
We are also going to be starting cursive! We will work our way through the lower case letters first and then tackle the upper cases letters. The class is excited to start this project!!
Have a great week! The newsletter for the past week is attached…newsletter 1:12:18
Max was our first star student of the new year! We learned that he likes pizza, basketball, the color green, and playing video games. We also learned that someday he wants to be an astronaut. We enjoyed getting to know Max this week.
