Happy December! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed the break from the usual daily schedule. Now it’s a crazy three weeks left until Christmas break. Here are some important dates coming up this month:
December 5 – Holiday Program (3rd – 5th performs at 7:30). Once I know the details of where to drop your child off that night, I will get that information to you.
December 12 – Secret Santa Shoppe – we shop this day from 3-3:30.
December 22 – Christmas party in our room will be from 1:15-2:15. A note went home about the gift exchange. Please know this is optional and not required.
Lastly, a note is coming home today about Grinchmas and spending the month of December doing good deeds. We will be brainstorming in our room as well to see what good deeds our class can be doing this month.
Here is the updated version of the newsletter: newsletter 12:1:17
Eli was our star student this week. We learned he likes baseball, knock-knock jokes, gym, reading, math and wants to be a monster truck driver when he grows up. We enjoyed getting to know Eli better this week.
Morgan celebrated her birthday this week Tuesday. She brought in ring pops for a treat so we could all celebrate with her. We hope you had a great day Morgan!
Wyatt celebrated a birthday this past Monday by making each of his classmates some slime! What a great idea for a birthday treat. We hope you had a great day!
Mae was our star student last week. We learned that Mae wants to be a professional soccer player and a teacher, she wishes she had two dogs, she likes to do piano and hair, and loves taking trips with her family. We enjoyed getting to know Mae better this week.
Jaxon celebrated his golden birthday this past Thursday. We enjoyed a golden treat of Rolos and he went out to dinner at night with his family to celebrate. We hope you had a great day!
Ellie was our star student this week. We learned that she likes Harry Potter, pizza, the color blue, dogs, and playing Monopoly. We enjoyed getting to know Ellie better this week.
Thanks to all the parents for their help on the Halloween party. We had a great time crafting, eating, and playing games. Fun was had by all!
A couple of reminders for this week and the month:
* Book-it has started for Pizza Hut coupons – I will not be sending home a reading calendar to keep track of reading minutes. I will be checking Reading Rewards for minutes logged. Many of the kids are telling me they are reading, but I have not seen minutes logged on the website. Please contact me if you need help with this. I want to make sure your child is getting rewarded for reading.
* Book Fair – Book fair is this week. Book look is Tuesday afternoon for our class. Your child will be coming home with a wish list that day. We buy on Wednesday morning from 10:15-10:45.
* Thanksgiving Feast – Our annual third grade feast will be Tuesday, November 21 at 1:00. The third grade teachers sent out an email asking for help with food and volunteers to help set up/clean up on feast day. Thank you to all who have volunteered to help! This is a fun and memorable day for the third graders and we couldn’t do this without your generosity and help!!
Looking forward to seeing you all at conferences this week. Report cards will be sent home on Monday.
Marissa was our star student this past week. We learned she likes dogs, Uno and playing soccer, spaghetti, the color blue, and the subjects writing and the specials.
Another week has just flown by! Just want to remind you about several things going on at school. Tuesday is our Halloween party. The parade starts at 2:00 and then our classroom party will be at 2:30 until 3:30. Please remember if you are planning on stopping in, you need to have a background check done. Second, the coin for books is still going on. The class that collects the most change, gets to keep the change and use it to buy books from the upcoming book fair. If we don’t win, the change will go to less fortunate schools and kids to help them buy books. A win-win if you ask me! Lastly, Friday, November 3 is early release day. Report cards will be coming home on Monday, November 6. Have a great weekend!
