Newsletter for September 21, 2018

Happy Friday! We made it through our first full week of school! We have been busying getting used to our procedures and routines so some great learning can take place. We enjoyed a great field trip to Art Prize this week too! Thank you to the volunteers who chaperoned a group of kids, it was great to have some many helping hands. I hope to have a video of all the great pictures shared with me up on the blog soon.

Here are a couple of things to be aware of in the upcoming weeks:

Walk-a-thon on October 5 – we walk in the morning right at 9:00.

A book order is coming home today, orders are due Friday, September 28.

A big shout out to Mrs. Denhof for bringing in popsicles for us on a very hot and sweaty day Thursday. It was a tasty way to cool off!

Have a great weekend….here is the updated newsletter for the week newsletter 9:21:18

Welcome to Third Grade!

Welcome back everyone! I can’t believe we are wrapping up week 2 of school. I feel we are off to a great start, despite the heat! Our room is feeling much better these last two days, let’s hope it continues.

It was great getting to meet all of you at open house before school started. I also feel like that night happens so quickly and I don’t get near enough time to connect with you all. Please feel free to email with any questions or concerns as we journey through this year together.

Hopefully your child is getting used to our classroom routines. I thought I would take a moment to review some expectations and procedures for the year. Everyday, your child should be bringing home a chat folder with the week’s agenda tucked in the back of the folder. The agenda is filled out daily by your child at school and then at the bottom is a place for a parent signature and any quick notes you may need to jot to me. Please take a moment to go through your child’s folder as it will contain notes from the office and papers from our work during the day. Homework that will be coming home is an oral reading paper every Wednesday and is due the following Wednesday, daily reading to be recorded on the monthly calendar, and soon to be coming Xtramath. A letter will be coming home on Monday explaining how to log onto this website.

I am waiting for more details about the Youth Football Night on September 14. From what I understand, your child should be getting a free ticket to get into the game that night. I will certainly pass along more details once I get them!

Have a great week!
